This track focuses on two key skills: summarizing and understanding relationships between ideas. You will learn how to condense long passages into concise summaries that capture the essential information. We will also explore how to identify cause-and-effect, comparison-contrast, and sequential relationships within a text to build a deeper comprehension of the material.

Delve into the art of rhetoric by analyzing how an author's choice of words and text structure shapes meaning and tone. This session will equip you to recognize rhetorical devices, understand the impact of specific vocabulary, and see how the organization of a text contributes to its overall purpose. By understanding these elements, you can better deconstruct arguments and appreciate the craft of writing.

Every text is written from a specific point of view and for a particular purpose. In this session, you will learn to identify the author's perspective, whether it's objective, biased, or satirical, and determine their primary goal—to inform, persuade, or entertain. We will also focus on dissecting arguments, evaluating the evidence presented, and identifying underlying assumptions.

The Synthesis questions are a unique challenge, requiring you to read two different passages and draw connections between them. This track provides targeted strategies for tackling these paired passages. You will learn how to identify points of agreement and disagreement, compare and contrast the authors' approaches, and synthesize information from both texts to answer complex questions.

A strong vocabulary is essential, but you don't need to know every word to succeed. This session teaches the crucial skill of using context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words and phrases. We will explore different types of context clues—such as definitions, examples, and contrasts—that help you unlock the meaning of challenging vocabulary within the passages themselves.

Go beyond the basics of paired passages with advanced strategies for the Synthesis section. This session focuses on time management, how to approach reading the two passages effectively, and how to anticipate the types of questions that will be asked. We will practice identifying subtle relationships and nuanced differences between the texts to master this challenging question type.

In this final session, you will apply everything you've learned to a simulated practice test experience. We will walk through a series of questions that cover all the content areas and question formats discussed in the course. This track is designed to build your confidence, refine your pacing, and give you a clear sense of what to expect on test day.
